Winthrop Weekend

For years we have enjoyed flying over the Methow Valley and the old frontier town of Winthrop. We began flying there just for our own personal enjoyment, but when some of our passengers heard what we were up to they wanted to be a part of it! So... welcome to our "working vacation," the Winthrop Weekend!

We fly in Winthrop only once a year - over the first full weekend in March (when Friday is in March, too, not just Saturday and Sunday). The 2014 trip will be March 7-9.

This very exclusive weekend getaway includes a two-night stay at the internationally acclaimed Sun Mountain Lodge and a balloon ride over the snow-covered Methow Valley.

Of course, the flights are weather permitting but if the weather doesn't allow for your Winthrop flight, we'll issue you a certificate good for a flight in our home valley. Either way you can't miss!

When you aren't flying, there are plenty of other activities available - snowmobile rentals, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, shopping, and great restaurants.

The 2014 fee for this unique weekend getaway is $399.00* per person. (It's worth every penny!) A $150.00 deposit per person is required to hold your reservation, with the balance due by February 15. Reservations are accepted all year long. The 2013 trip sold out early so it's best to make your reservation now. Call and we'll begin your reservation!

Alternative & Additional Reservations:

Winthrop Weekend for One Person Party - $500 (includes lodging for 1-2 people)

If you are a group of three or four who don't mind sharing a room, the rate per person for the Winthrop Weekend is:

Three-Person Party - $360 per person

Four-Person Party - $350 per person

Room layouts are generally either two queen beds (one may be a sofa-sleeper), a queen and a twin, or a queen and two twins. When you make your reservation, please specify if you have a room layout preference.

Winthrop Weekend for Kids: One or two children, 11 years and under, when staying with two Winthrop Weekend adults - $275 per child

Room Upgrades: Depending on lodge availability, you can upgrade your reservation for the following fee^*:

Gardner Room - $69

Mt. Robinson Room - $179

*This fee is for the entire weekend per room. For example, if you wanted to upgrade to a Gardner Room and your Winthrop Weekend reservation is for two people, your total cost would be $867 ($399 x 2 + $69). Based on 1-2 people per room. 2014 rate.

Additional Room Guests (Non-flying guests): $65 per person, space-permitting depending on your lodging selection. This fee is for the entire weekend.

Cancellation Policy: Due to lodge room-block policies, a special cancellation policy applies to the Winthrop Weekend reservations:

If you cancel your Winthrop trip you will be issued a gift certificate valid for a Traditional Flight in the Snohomish Valley, and

the remaining monetary refund will be assessed a $100 lodge and handling fee if you've cancelled 30-90 days before the scheduled Winthrop arrival date.

the remaining monetary refund will be assessed a $200 lodge and handling fee if you've cancelled 10-29 days before the scheduled Winthrop arrival date.

the remaining monetary refund will be assessed a $375 lodge and handling fee if you've cancelled 0-9 days before the scheduled Winthrop arrival date.
